 Milton
Lewis Wardrop, 69, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006, with his
wife of 38 years by his side.
Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Garden Chapel. Burial:
Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at
Greenwood Funeral Home.
Milton was born May 4, 1936, in Mount Carmel, Pa., to James and
Mildred Wardrop. Milton attended Penn State College and from there
joined the U.S. Army. He made a career of the Army, serving over 20
years before retirement in the mid '70s. While serving in both
Korea and Vietnam, Milton received several honors including the
Bronze Star. He traveled the world, seeing Germany, Japan, Italy,
Greece and France. Milton was extremely proud of his long service
to his country.
Milton met Helen Grimsley, wife of 38 years, at Fort Wolters in
Mineral Wells. Helen was a local girl working at the PX on base. It
was love at first sight. Milton and Helen were married Dec. 9,
1967.
After the military, Milton went on to have a second career at
Neiman Marcus. He retired from Nieman Marcus and spent the last 10
years of his life pursuing his hobbies. Milton was an avid reader
and loved spending hours on his computer. In retirement, Milton
also joined the Scottish Clans of North Texas and served as
national treasurer for the Clan McDuff. He got his family
involved in their Scottish heritage. Milton had one grandchild, Zoe
Beth. She was the second love of his life.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred
Wardrop; and sisters, Anna Denman and Ellen Kapeghian.

Survivors: Wife of 38 years, Helen Wardrop; son, James Wardrop
and wife, Kelly; daughter, Kelly Dennis and husband, Brook;
granddaughter, Zoe Elizabeth Dennis; stepgrandsons, Javier and
Renzo; brothers, William Wardrop and wife, Evelyn, and Tom Wardrop
and wife, Sandy; sisters, Ethel Zimmermann, Margaret Rocke and
husband, Don, and Mildred Stahler; and many nieces, nephews and
friends.
