FRANCES GAYE BRODIE went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2003, during this Easter Resurrection Season. She was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas, on November 10, 1939 and was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elworth Clifton of Camden, Arkansas, her brother Scotty Clifton, and her first husband, Alfred Dobbins. Memorial Services will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 5308 Buffalo Speedway at Bissonnet, Houston, Texas. Rev. Jim McNaull, Pastor, and Rev. Dr. M. Douglas Harper, Jr. Pastor Emeritus will officiate.

Gaye was widely known for her radiant smile and caring manner. She was active at St. Andrew's Church as a Ruling Elder and in Presbyterian Women and Older Children of God, as well as various other committees and study groups. Gaye was a Stephen Minister and a member and Director of POP, Presbyterian Outreach to Patients, at the Texas Medial Center. She had previously been an 1100 hour volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital.

Gaye assisted the Pastors at St. Andrew's with Home Communion, was active in coordinating the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, and with her husband, Ed, was a co-teacher of a Bible Study Group for the last 3 years at the Terrace Retirement Home near the church.

An older Graduate of Houston Baptist University, with highest honors, she was a Federal Income Tax practitioner with Coopers & Lybrand and with Persh & Mills, CPA's. She previously worked for Aramco, T-Bar-M Tennis Ranch, and Texas Eastern Pipeline.

Gaye was an active volunteer in the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Program in the Houston Chapter, and was active in the Houston Heather & Thistle Society, Houston Highland Games Association, and various other Scottish activities. She was also a member of the Houston Happy Hikers, of the American Volkssport Association, having completed walks in all 50 states and the 10 Provinces of Canada.

Gaye 's memory will live on in the hearts of her many friends; her husband of 30 years, Edward F. Brodie ; sisters-in-law Sarah Clifton and Sheila Brodie ; her stepchildren Bruce Brodie and his wife Kathy of Kansas City, Diane Brodie of League City, TX and Trish Brodie of Walnut Creek, California; as well as Bruce and Kathy's children Beth Joiner, and David, Jeff, Jeannie, and Danny Brodie . She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Grace Dobbins of Camden, Arkansas.

Ever caring for others, Gaye had donated her earthly body to the University of Texas Willed Body Program, in lieu of interment. In stead of flowers, the family requests donations to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund at St. Andrew's or to the American Red Cross, Houston Chapter.
