EUPHEMIA PHEMIA HUME 12/10/30 10/01/04
Phemia Hume died at home after a long struggle with the lung diseases she fought with personal courage and fortitude: a dedicated member of "Memorial Southwest Better Breathers" she outlasted almost all her fellow members. More concerned for her family and friends than for her own health problems she remained so concerned to the very end.
Born at "The Renton", Scotland she emigrated to Texas in 1955 and immediately joined The Heather and Thistle Society. She remained an active member until forced by ill health in recent years to curtail her activities. Though a proud Texan and citizen of the United States of America she maintained a lasting interest and affection for Scotland. Following a private cremation service her ashes will be returned to the land of her birth. A "Celebration of Phemia's Life" will follow at a later date.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her teenage sweetheart and husband of 54 years Jack; daughter Margie and husband Tom Carmichael; daughter Mary and husband Darwin Thompson; beloved grandchildren Sean Davin and Catherine Nell Carmichael; devoted sisters Betty and husband Mickey Feldt; Catherine and husband Walter Smillie: Brothers in Law Harry Hamill; Bob Hume and sister in law Gertrude; Nieces Michelle, Catherine, Jane, Nephews Bob, James, Stephen; special grand nephew Shannon.
