Dean Earle McAlpin, 66, died July 5, 2004 in a Mineral Wells hospital.

Service is 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Father Tom Kennedy officiating. Visitation is 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Mineral Wells Senior Center.

He was born Nov. 21, 1937 in Friend, Neb., the son of Archiebald and Geraldine Evans McAlpin. He lived in Mineral Wells since 1972 and was a retired wastewater maintenance man for the city. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Scottish Festivals. He also served as a director on the Mineral Wells Senior Center's Board of Trustees.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Mary McAlpin of Oxnard, Calif.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Lois Metcalf of Mineral Wells, and Doris and Merton Quaife of Phoenix, Ariz.
