Edwin John Young (1925-2007)

EDWIN JOHN YOUNG, born May 29, 1925 in Montreal, Canada to Thomas and Jessie Ness Young, passed away August 30, 2007. Edwin is survived by his wife, Margaret Bartholow; his children JoAnne, Gordon, and Christopher with his late wife Lorna Crestmount; grandchildren Melanie, Christopher, Gordon, and Liam Young and Jessica ten Doesschate; sister Dorothy Dressler and families of late sisters Audrey Baker and Shirley Dargie; plus numerous extended family and friends. Ed was a WWII Royal Canadian Navy volunteer, McGill University graduate, and rose to VP of Lord Electric in NYC, then the nation's largest electrical contractor, working closely with IBEW Local 3. He was a Democratic Party activist and later local AARP spokesperson, former North Montrose Civic Association Board member, and proud member of the Heather and Thistle Society. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007, in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home.
