DR. ARTHUR LEWIS DOWN, born March 25, 1916 in London, England, died peacefully in his sleep on November 15, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Joan, and their children, Martin and Bridget. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral on Friday, November 20th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to either The Beacon, Cathedral Health and Outreach Ministries, 1117 Texas Ave., Houston, TX 77002, an outreach program helping Houston's homeless, or The Heather & Thistle Society of Houston, c/o Dr. W. May, 6143 Sienna Arbor Ln, Houston, TX 77041.
